  • Meet people – volunteering can help you meet different kinds of people and make new friends
  • Be part of a community
  • Learn new skills
  • Take on a challenge
  • Have fun!

As a volunteer at HLLC you will be working at the Centre itself or in our East End Opportunity Shop.
Many volunteers work with us simply for their own satisfaction, but as we are an approved agency for Centrelink, we can also help you with mutual obligation schemes and provide you with an opportunity to develop the skills required to transition back into the workforce.

Board of Governance

Seeking New Members

HLLC is run by a Board of Governance. The Board is seeking interested, qualified and/or experienced volunteers to join. While not essential, expressions of interest from people with skills and experience in finance/accounting, law and fundraising would be of particular value.

Please note that this is a governance only role (not a hands-on in the Centre).

The Board meet on a monthly basis with limited additional meetings for subcommittees. There is an expectation of some reading before the meetings and other small tasks during the month. There is an induction process and training will be provided.

To find out more, or to talk with someone about becoming a volunteer, please contact the Centre on 5962 5982 or complete the contact form below and we will contact you.
