Tech Savvy Seniors – Over 55s Digital Skills Group

Join our friendly,  seniors-only group designed to help you build confidence using your digital devices—whether it’s a mobile phone, tablet, laptop, or iPad.

Learn together in a welcoming space with fellow beginners

Explore everyday tasks like:

  • Sending and receiving texts
  • Taking and sharing photos
  • Navigating common apps

Go at your own pace with fun, hands-on activities that ensure you’ll feel comfortable and capable using your device.

Beginners Computer Class – Get Confident with Your Device!

Are you new to using a mobile phone, tablet, iPad or laptop?  This relaxed, friendly class is just for you.

What you’ll learn:

  • Operating systems and how to keep them current
  • How to add programs
  • Searching the internet
  • Setting up an email address
  • Everyday digital tasks made simple

Supportive & welcoming – Join a group of learners who are starting from the beginning—no pressure, just encouragement.

Learn at your own pace – We offer lots of hands-on activities, tailored to your skill level and interests.

Whether you’re interested in creating:

  • promotion for your small business
  • special family events or milestones

  • professional LinkedIn content,
  • engaging Instagram stories

This program will provide you with the practical skills and creative inspiration needed to create that special project.

This is a very practical program that you will produce a number of videos and present them to your group for feedback.

Discover what equipment you’ll need to create professional video with your mobile phone.  Share ideas with each other.

Use Canva to make invites, flyers, brochures, logos, letterheads

An online program using Canva an online design and publishing tool for people and teams wanting to design absolutely anything, from logos and social media content to documents, prints and more.

Enjoy the comfort of your home to participate in this program.

There will be practical activities that will need to be completed during this program.

Each session looks at different activities, you have the capacity to choose which sessions you want to attend to cater for different skill levels.

This is a fun program learning to use Canva software.

  • create your free online account
  • create invitations, flyers or brochures.
  • beginners will learn how to use the software
  • explore the templates and other things you can do in Canva
  • There will be home activities that you will have the week to complete ready for your next session.

Website Design using WordPress

An evening online program allowing you to sit in the comfort of your home.

Build a captivating website for your small business using WordPress and the intuitive Elementor drag-and- drop page builder.

You’ll learn how to create engaging content and craft it into your page layout. Perfect for those wanting to get online without paying big bucks.

You will learn how to build and maintain your WordPress website.

All learners will be working on a live site with your own login that will be setup by the trainer for you.

If you need support to design a website this is the group for you!

Starts: Monday – Expressions of Interest being taken for Term 4
Duration: 10 weekly sessions

COVID19 Guarantee

In the event of increased COVID19 restrictions:
Where programs have already commenced, HLLC will schedule make-up sessions.
Where programs are yet to commence, HLLC will provide a class credit to be used within 12 months.

We are open with COVID safe protocols in place, and we are happy to be welcoming our community back to HLLC. If you are visiting our office we ask that you check in at reception upon arrival, and continue to observe good hand hygiene practices and social distancing guidelines.

Programs

Any program with this symbol indicates enrolment fees are:

  • $50 for the year
  • learners can then enrol in as many programs showing the logo for FREE
  • Each term after the $50 payment will be $30 to assist with the delivery and utility costs.
