Carer Support

Our Caring for Carers activities create welcoming spaces where unpaid carers can connect, catch their breath, and find practical support. We focus on friendly faces, simple routines, and real‑world benefits—social connection, gentle self‑care, and easier pathways to help when it’s needed

Carers look after others. We’re here to look after carers

Relaxed carers catch‑ups and walks, a cuppa and conversation, practical tips,  information and warm referrals to local supports if you want them.  Come as you are, join when you can—no pressure, no fuss

For anyone who identifies as an unpaid carer in Healesville and surrounds

Caring for Carers Project

All activities are free!

Funded by Carers Victoria, this 9‑month program will build stronger support around carers through peer connection, a focus on self‑care and wellbeing, and pathways to further information and support links The project is being flexibly designed, and co‑shaped with carers, so it fits real life. The project includes:

  • Peer Support Group: 2‑hour, monthly sessions facilitated by our Community Development team
  • Self‑Care for Carers: 1‑hour monthly sessions with practical, low‑cost ideas to support energy, confidence and calm, along with a little pampering
  • Work Readiness for Carers: two 6‑week cohorts (4–8 people) led by an employment specialist, focusing on recognising transferable skills, building confidence, and mapping flexible pathways back to study or work when the time is right
  • Flexible supports: individual check‑ins, warm referral pathways, light refreshments, and limited transport support for those who need it
  • Who can join: unpaid carers aged 18+ caring for a family member or friend (disability, chronic illness, mental health, ageing, additional needs)
